Narita is a stylish brand based in northern Spain, specialized in customizing the popular Japanese Blythes.

Based in Spain, Mercedes has been applying her unique approach to the traditional Blythe style since 2020. Her approach sets her apart: every aspect must make sense before the doll finds its new adopted home. Her creation process is purely artisanal, from the meticulous facial polishing using the highest quality materials, to hand-sewing each look with patterns sourced directly from Japan.

Each of MercEDES's dolls is unique. HER designs and characterizes them according to her mood and the feelings she experiences at the moment, reflecting the environment that surrounds her.

Her artistic process becomes a symbiotic dance between creator and creation, where each stroke and expression reflects the evolving canvas of her inner world. Through her dolls, MercEDES invites us to a realm where emotions are sculpted, and environments breathe life into the inanimate, evoking a fabric of authenticity and resonance.

To design Narita’s brand, I used Jeko, a humanist sans-serif typeface, chosen for its unique, rounded, and distinctive characteristics. This typeface conveys a sense of elegance and modernity that perfectly complements Mercedes's creative style. Its clean and smooth lines reflect the attention to detail and sophistication defining her artistic work with Blythe dolls. Through lowercase letters, I aimed to evoke a sweet and enchanting hint, reminiscent of the nostalgic joy of caressing dolls from childhood, inviting us to revisit that tender experience.

Narita, named after a quaint Japanese town, serves as the cultural heartbeat of Mercedes's Blythe doll creations. Drawing inspiration from the serene landscapes and vibrant traditions of Narita, each doll reflects a harmonious fusion of East and West.

His art is sold privately in over 10 different countries, primarily the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Brazil, and the United States, and embodies the charming essence of Narita, captivating collectors around the world.
